Top 10 Rarest Cars in The World

There is something seductive about rare cars. It could be their beauty. Or that they are one in a million. Or that most of us could only dream about owning one. Here are ten rare cars that made it to our list.

1. 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing

The rarest and most expensive model Mercedes has ever built, Adam Levine of Maroon 5 had his hands on this beauty before putting it up for auction in 2019.

Estimated price: SGD$2,029,375

2. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California SWB Spider

A Ferrari classic, the 250 GT California SWB Spider was a massive head-turner in the early sixties. Only 16 units of the original 1961 model were built so let's all take a moment to relish in its massive price tag.

Estimated price: €11,000,000 to €13,000,000 (SGD$17,870,270 to SGD$21,119,410)

3. 1951 Jaguar C-Type

With just 53 units being built between 1951 and 1953, you might have a hard time finding one for sale, let alone affording the asking price. The least expensive C-Type that was sold at a recent auction at USD$3,725,000 was a 1953 model. The most expensive was a 1953 "lightweight" at USD$13,200,000.

Estimated price: €5,700,000 (SGD$9,260,049)

4. JAGUAR XKSS

Another Jaguar made it to our list (who can resist this sleek design?). A beloved by Steve McQueen, only 16 of these were ever made (Jaguar planned for 25, but a factory fire destroyed the 9 unfinished chassis), with just 12 still believed in existence.

Estimated price: US$16,000,000 to US$18,000,000 (SGD$21,717,040 to SGD$24,431,670)

5. Helica de Leyat

Is this a car or a plane? Even though it seems preposterous and unconventional, the lightweight design and achieving a speed of up to 170km/h made it impressive, considering that it was built in 1921.

Estimated price: USD$20,000,000 (SGD$27,146,300)

6. 2019 Bugatti La Voiture Noire

Does this seem like a Batmobile? Something that is more recent, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire is the world's most expensive new car ever sold- $18.68 million. Only one is being built, but the owner won't be driving it any time soon; not till 2022.

Estimated price: USD$18,680,000 (SGD$25,354,644)

7. 1904 Rolls-Royce 15 HP

As a result of an agreement between Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, the 1904 Rolls Royce 15 HP was one of four cars to be produced, with this model being the second car to literally roll out of the Rolls-Royce factory. This definitely tops our list at a price tag of SGD$47 million.

Estimated price: USD$35,000,000 (SGD$47,491,675)

8. Icona Vulcano Titanium

The world's first titanium car- it looks straight out of a superhero movie. It reaches 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds and 200km/h in just 8.4 seconds. The brakes are carbon ceramics so there shouldn't be any issue getting rid of all that speed. Whilst we cannot promise that you are able to get your hands on this (there is only one in the world), we can promise that, you can never park alongside another Volcano.

Estimated price: €2,500,000 (SGD$4,062,250)

9. 1970 Porsche 917

The Porsche 917 is the most famous racing car of all time. It gave Porsche its first overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and 1971.

Estimated price: USD$14,000,000 (SGD$18,993,870)

10. 1956 Aston Martin DBR1

Rounding up our top ten is the 1956 Aston Martin DBR1. James Bond's favorite car company caused a sensation when this racing legacy was sold for a whopping $22,500,000- the highest that a British-made car has fetched at an auction.

Estimated price: USD$22,500,000 (SGD$30,510,337)
